Can I trade or sell my maternity clothes anytime?
To Trade: We accept trades daily when the buyer is in. Due to the limited availability of the buyer, we ask that you please call ahead to 916-452-MAMA (6262) before coming in to determine that a buyer will be available that day.
To Sell: We purchase maternity clothing by appointment only. Appointments are scheduled Tuesday through Friday at 11AM and 3PM, when available. Due to limited availability of our buyer, we are no longer purchasing clothing on a "drop-in/drop off" basis. Please call 916-452-MAMA (6262) to schedule for the next available appointment. Anyone interested in selling their maternity and/or nursing items please note: YOU MUST CALL AHEAD TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO SELL YOUR CLOTHING. NO EXCEPTIONS.
What items do you accept or do not accept for trade/purchase?
1) We purchase only maternity and/or nursing items in excellent gently-used condition for trade or purchase. It is not necessary to bring items on hangars. We purchase all seasons, year-round (i.e. we purchase winter clothing during the summer months, fall during spring, etc.).
2) We purchase items that are fairly recent in style and that have been recently laundered/washed. We do not accept items with pet hair, smoke or other odors.
3) We purchase items that are free from rips, stains, tears, missing buttons, or missing/illegible size tags. If you have the buttons and they are not attached, please bring them with the garment(s) for consideration.
How does the trade/purchase process work (i.e. What can I expect to receive for my items)?
We assess your items when they are brought into the store. Depending upon a variety of factors (brand, item condition, demand, etc.) we determine whether it is an item that we may be able to re-sell. At that time, we assess the value for what we would sell the item in the store.
For trade purposes, you would receive up to 40% of the selling price (determined by the above criteria) in store credit. Store credit is good towards the purchase of any items sold in the store. Store credit does not expire and is fully transferable (i.e. it may be gifted to another individual).
If you are selling your items to us, you would receive up to 30% (also determined by the above criteria) of the price we would sell the item. Certain designer items (i.e. 7 For All Mankind, Paige Premium Denim, Citizens of Humanity, Michael Stars; Juliet Dream; Japanese Weekend, etc.) may qualify you to receive up to 40% of the selling price (again determined by the above criteria).
Once we have reviewed your items, we make an offer to you for all items that we wish to accept. Due to the high demand for our services and the amount of time that it takes to evaluate the items, we do not give a piece-by-piece breakdown. You are not obligated to accept the offer that is made. If you do accept, we provide a company check to you on the spot. Once you have accepted our offer and the check is made out to you, the transaction is binding. We do not offer consignment services. If you would prefer to consign your items, we may be able to make recommendations to you.
We regret that we cannot assess or assign a value to your items over the phone nor can any staff person, other than the official buyer, provide trade or purchase services. NO EXCEPTIONS.
